Rihanna’s new FENTY x PUMA styles

Rihanna’s partnership with Puma continues to launch new sneakers. Earlier this year, they released the FENTY x PUMA Avanti LS, a soccer-inspired shoe, based on the PUMA King football boot. They’re now back with two more colorways: a neon yellow with an orange Formstrip and an orange/hot pink combo. The set includes a slide called the Cat Cleat Jelly. Rihanna introduced the shoe at a press event where only kids could ask questions, saying she’s now in her “soccer mom” era.

Design:

The Avanti LS is a redesign of the original Avanti and adds elements from Speedcat and Mostro to the mix. The shoes feature a Foldover tongue showcasing the FENTY logo and the jumping PUMA. The two new styles are made of leather with visible stitching. We like the hair suede detail on the back heel.

This sneaker also features a regular fit with a lace closure, a nubuck upper and tongue, a moulded sockliner and a rubber outsole. And let’s not forget the suede PUMA Formstrip for extra branding.

The slide is cleat inspired, meaning that it has studs on the sole, which raise the heel and have better grip, particularly if you think you’ll be wearing them around the swimming pool. It also gets extra comfort thanks to its padded footbed.

Performance:

These kicks are more style than performance, but if you’re looking to stand in style on the soccer pitch, they are not a bad choice at all. They are, after all, inspired by soccer and are made of durable and flexible leather materials. They feature a gum outsole, which is a classic element of soccer/football boots so you’ll feel stable on the grass.

Styling your Fenty X PUMA sneakers

We don’t really have any guidance on this one. Just think of Rihanna’s own fearless fashion and get as creative as you want. We feel like we might pair it with flare jeans (because we’re still obsessed with Kendrick Lamar’s SuperBowl look) or any pants, trousers or joggers with a slit. The new releases will be super colorful, so you can go neutral on top or wear matching hues that will scream “springtime” on the streets of Aurora, Colorado. If you want to keep it a bit more low key, go with the FENTY x PUMA first model of 2025, which was released in January and came in a more tame Team Royal-Creamy Vanilla hue and golden logo detail.

What is the Rihanna x Puma partnership?

Rihanna’s partnership with PUMA began in 2014 when she became Creative Director of PUMA Women’s. Her debut sneaker was the highly successful PUMA Creeper in 2015, which sold out instantly and won Shoe of the Year in 2016. Over the next few years, she expanded FENTY x PUMA with streetwear pieces, athleisure, and footwear like sock sneakers and slides.
