Nike promises even more performance with an upgrade to its Air Max engineering

Release date: March 26, 2025

Price: $190

Nike’s Dynamic Air system is getting an upgrade and loads of new performance features with the Air Max DN8. This new take on Air tech includes two unique four-chambered units, which means you’ll have eight tube-like Air bags working together for maximum responsiveness and comfort. A few colorways have dropped already, and more are on the way.

Design

The DN8 has already made waves on the streets of Paris during Fashion Week and the NBA Paris Games. Victor Wembanyama rocked them throughout the city, alongside Nike’s athlete and influencer crew, including Sabrina Ionescu, Central Cee, Midge Purce, Gabriel Moses, and Chy Cartier.

The Air Max DN8 keeps things streamlined without cutting back on performance. The Dynamic Air system packs a punch in a low-profile silhouette, giving you that bouncy, responsive feel with every step. On its website, Nike has promised “More Air, less bulk” with these kicks.

In terms of colors, these shoes come in a two-tone design, featuring a primary color on the upper, and a darker one (generally black) on the sole. Branding elements include a mini Swoosh on the side and a reflective Air Max patch on the tong, as well as a retro Air Max DN badge on the heel.

Launching on Air Max Day 2025 (March 26), the Nike Air Max Dn 8 'Green Strike' features a Volt-colored mesh upper with gradient accents that transition from bright green to black. In addition to a molded black mini-Swoosh on the lateral side, branding elements include a reflective Air Max patch on the tongue and a retro-inspired Air Max Dn badge on the rear of the TPU heel counter. A solid black finish is applied to the Phylon midsole, fitted with a dual-chambered system that comprises eight pressurized Air tubes tinged in a fluorescent green hue. The other colorway that is expected to drop is “Hyper Pink”.

The Nexkin mesh on the slashed portion of the upper combines with an engineered mesh surrounding it to create a two-tone look. Felt suede appears on the vamp and eyestays, continuing the primary color onto the tongue and laces.

Performance features in the Nike Air Max DN8

Here’s a new word for your sneaker vocabulary: “Palindromic Air” which Nike has added across all eight tubes to give extra cushioning where and when it’s most needed. The back two tubes are set at 15 psi (pounds per inch) for a firm landing, while the next two soften things up at 5 psi. Up front, the setup flips: 5 psi in the third set of tubes and 15 psi at the toe.

As it announced this new shoe family, Nike promised that for the first time, the Air Max Dn8 extends Nike's Dynamic Air technology to the full length of the foot. As you step, air moves between the tubes in each chamber, giving you more smoothness and responsiveness.

The upper is soft and breathable, helping to keep things light and comfortable, while the other materials in the shoe are designed to ensure durability.
