The Adidas Harden Vol. 8 was a hit. Punters loved it for its design and athletes loved its performance. Now, the Harden Vol. 9 is here, serving that same energy with fresh updates.

Based on James’ Harden’s vision of “radical simplicity”, which was first tested on the market with the Harden Vol 7, these sneakers’ aesthetics can essentially be summed up in a rule of two. Two colors form the backbone, and occasionally, a third is added in small doses. This makes the design very recognizable and a big move away from the retro trend (Adidas Gazelle, anyone?).

This new release sticks with the 5/8th cut silhouette and bootie construction inside a molded shell. It stands out more than the previous model, with curved cut-outs featuring Adidas branding in a low-key way.

Performance

Don’t let the style and space-age appeal of these sneakers fool you. They’re not designed by one of the all-time greatest scorers and shooting guards in NBA history for nothing, and James Harden is known to be involved very hands-on in all of his Adidas collections.

The Adidas Harden Vol. 9 "Pearlized" are expected to drop on February 22, along with other colorways, some of which have already made their way to shops near you. Those are: Cyber Metallic (silver and black); Metamorphosis (green and black); Hell Cat (black and red) and Ice Metallic (blue and silver). A special Year of the Snake (purple and black) was released in December as a China exclusive.

The shoe will retail at $160 in adult sizes.
